I would like to see Doerun's downtown spruced up. Just because towns like Doerun and Norman park are small doesn't mean the town has too look so run down and out of date.
I have been to small towns that have fixed up and refurbished their downtowns and made it look really nice.

Perhaps these towns could get some type of grant to improve the looks, do some streetscape and landscape, etc.

i agree 100% admin!! there is only one store in the whole town that has shown any community pride by fixing up and that is wheeler hardware!! they put a real nice mural on their storefront.

I go through there on the way to Albany and often think what a nice town Doerun could really be with a little work on the buildings and some landscaping.

Yes, it could be a very charming little downtown with a little fixing up. Also I bet if it was fixed up similar to the examples I had links to, you would see a increase in new business that might want to open up there.

Just because your little and not the county seat, doesn't mean you can't have a booming little town.

a few years ago the city tried to get the businesses to fix up a little. if i remember correctly, only a couple did anything at all. we need a gimmick like helen did!!
